Citizen expands its successful collection – and simultaneously reduces it
We're talking about "Tsuyosa." The term means strength in Japanese. And indeed, the Citizen model of the same name made a strong impression when it launched in 2022.
Color, automatic, vintage design, and automatic movement – the Japanese watch manufacturer combines these ingredients in the usual Citizen quality with an attractive price-performance ratio.
No wonder demand was enormous and sustained from the start. The Tsuyosa has now become a bestseller, available in many color schemes and various dial designs.

And now there's also a smaller version of the previous 40-millimeter version. "Finally," many of those who don't have quite as large wrists or who simply prefer the popular diameters from the last millennium will surely say.
"I confess, I've been a fan of the 'Tsuyosa' collection—or 'Citizen me,' as it was originally called—from the very beginning. A cool watch unafraid of color—I opted for the lush green at the time—a trendy vintage design, an automatic movement: and all that for under 300 euros. I couldn't say no, even if I was a bit hesitant about the size. But now, the 37-millimeter version is finally here—I'm a fan."

Three models with a diameter of 37 millimeters will be the first, in ice blue, pastel pink, and dark green. The price: €299 RRP.

Inside the new "Tsuyosa" models, an automatic in-house movement (caliber 8210) still works—the same as in the larger versions, to be precise. Also retained are the scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with a magnifying glass above the date window, the transparent case back, luminescent indices and hands, the crown at 4 o'clock, and the integrated stainless steel bracelet for comfort.

The “Tsuyosa” collection is a reinterpretation of the NH299 series, which was one of Citizen’s best-selling mechanical watch lines in the late 1990s and early 2000s, especially in overseas markets.
