Watches & Wonders 2025: colour, texture and pattern
It doesn't always have to be a painting, a story or a view of the universe to utilise the design potential of the dial. Colours, textures and patterns offer a cornucopia of possibilities to give a watch an individual face.

Chopard - "Alpine Eagle Chameleon Set for His & for Hers": The watch gallery "Art in Time" and the Swiss brand are presenting 15 watch sets, each with two "Alpine Eagle" timepieces for him and her. Which one for whom - of course, everyone can decide for themselves. The common eye-catcher is the "chameleon" dial, whose colour changes from blue to violet depending on the angle of view.

While the 41-millimetre version houses the L.U.C 96.40-L with COSC certification and the Geneva Seal, the 36-millimetre version is powered by the automatic movement 09.01-C, which is also COSC-certified. The most obvious difference, apart from the size and the seconds display, is the bezel with baguette-cut sapphires with a violet-blue colour gradient. (Set RRP €60,250 plus VAT)
Czapek - "Promenade Plissé": Originally launched in 2024 as a women's collection, Czapek has since dispensed with gender-specific categorisation for the "Promenade". "An aesthetically pleasing watch is universal - just like a perfectly tailored dinner jacket looks great on everyone," explains Czapek CEO Xavier de Roquemarel.
In the case of this 38-millimetre stainless steel model, it is all about plissé, i.e. pleats in their most beautiful form on the asymmetrical, embossed dial. The three colour variants are inspired by the world of fashion: from Marilyn Monroe's white pleated dress to Issey Miyake's pleats and Yves Saint Laurent's Le Smoking. The in-house automatic calibre SXH5 with a 60-hour power reserve is at work inside.

MeisterSinger - "Neo Special": The "Neo" has been a firm fixture in the range of the single-hand watch specialist from Münster for years. Its design is reminiscent of the elegant dress watches of the 1950s and 1960s: a narrow case rim puts the dial centre stage.

The slightly curved shape of the spahir glass emphasises the retro charm. With the "Neo Special", MeisterSinger presents four new 36-millimetre versions in spring-like pastel shades: light yellow, light blue, light red and light green.
Inside beats the Swiss automatic movement Sellita SW200 (RRP €1,890)
U-Boat - "Classico 45 Titanium Tungsten Blue": A well-known design from the Italian brand has been reinterpreted in a chronograph version. The model has a 45-millimetre titanium case that is water-resistant to ten bar and a tungsten bezel.
In addition, there is a new dial with a three-dimensional waffle pattern in blue, black and grey, each limited to 299 pieces.
The timepiece is powered by the Swiss SW500 automatic movement from Sellita with a personalised rotor and 62-hour power reserve, visible through the U-shaped recess on the back. (RRP €4,900)

Nomos - Club Campus: The robust manufacture watch with the Roman-Arabic numeral mix is an entry-level model in the world of mechanical watches, available in diameters of 36 and 38.5 millimetres - and in a confident colour scheme.

This model in bright yellow, called Starlight, proves this beyond doubt. The stainless steel case, water-resistant to ten bar and with a generous engraving area on the bottom, houses the elaborately decorated Nomos hand-wound Alpha calibre with a 43-hour power reserve. (RRP €1,500 or €1,600)
Tudor - "Black Bay Chrono Flamingo Blue": The latest chronograph from Tudor with a dial in "Flamingo Blue" brings a touch of summer feeling to winter in the northern hemisphere. It is well known that flamingos are not blue. Of course, the Rolex sister brand knows this too. Rather, it is the special turquoise colour of tropical waters that flamingos particularly like.
In technical terms, the timepiece boasts a 41-millimetre stainless steel case that is water-resistant to 20 bar, a fixed bezel with a black anodised aluminium dial with a tachymeter scale. The "Flamingo Blue" is equipped with the COSC-certified chronograph calibre MT5813 (based on Breitling 01) with a 70-hour power reserve. (RRP €5,870)

Oris - "ProPilot X Miss Piggy": After the frog-green Kermit version in 2023, the next instalment of the "Oris x Disney's The Muppets" collaboration is now following. This time, the leading lady is none other than the self-proclaimed diva Miss Piggy. The Swiss brand has therefore not skimped on pink. The "ProPilot X" uses the colour uncompromisingly on the dial.

The only exception is a sparkling baguette lab diamond at 12 o'clock. Unlike the "ProPilot X Kermit" edition, Miss Piggy is content with an image on the back of the 34-millimetre stainless steel case, which is water-resistant to ten bar. Inside, the automatic calibre 531 ensures precision. (RRP €2,800)
Parmigiani Fleurier - "Tonda PF 36 Automatic": This new model from the Fleurier-based manufacturer combines the allure of vintage proportions with quite luxury. The latter is epitomised by the "Stone Blue" dial, which is reminiscent of the clarity of a morning sky or the calming reflections of still waters.
The guilloché dial with Grain d'Orge motif harmonises with the knurled platinum bezel that frames the 36-millimetre stainless steel case, which is water-resistant to ten bar - a trademark of the "Tonda-PF" collection. The two-hand watch is powered by the PF770 automatic calibre with a 60-hour power reserve. (UVOP21,000 CHF)
