Nomos Glashütte completes the dozen!
The Glashütte-based manufacturer has received the award for outstanding product design at the prestigious iF Design Award for what is arguably the most innovative version of its classic "Tangente" watch to date. The "Tangente 2date" lives up to its name.
It boasts two date displays. This combination of surprising functionality and skillful design, among other things, impressed the 131-member jury.
In a patented design, the date ring is placed outside the movement, allowing both a classic date window and the Nomos-typical ring date.

Inside the 37.5-millimeter gemstone case, the in-house manufacture caliber DUW 4601 takes charge. It features a sunray finish emanating from the heart of the watch, the Nomos Swing System, as well as a newly designed, skeletonized balance cock.
"Time doesn't always pass at the same rate, even if the precision of Nomos watches suggests otherwise. So you can view time in either direction and change your perspective. With the new DUW 4601 movement, we as a manufacturer can at least display the date twice. Digitally as usual, and also in analog. The new 'Tangente 2date' with its iconic design offers two perspectives on the passing of days: on the individual day and on the days in the course of a month," explains Florian Langenbucher of Nomos Glashütte, explaining the motivation for designing a watch with two date displays.
The manufacturer has now been awarded the international iF Design Award for the twelfth time.
