This is the new Alpina Alpiner Extreme Automatic

In Geneva, Alpina presented the latest member of the Alpiner Extreme Automatic series family. With its chic ice-blue dial, the new model goes back to its origins - a favourite among outdoor watches.

Alpina has designed a new exclusive blue version especially for the Alpiner Extreme Automatic. The watch thus returns to its origins with a radiant ice blue colour. With its mixture of blue and light grey, the look pays homage to alpine mountain ranges. With its steel case in a reduced 39 x 40.5 mm format, the new Alpiner is discreetly sporty and elegant at the same time. Inside beats the self-winding AL-525 calibre with a power reserve of 38 hours. The dial, decorated with the triangular motif of mountain peaks and the date at 3 o'clock, is crossed by three hands.

Cult watch with a special case

The Alpiner Extreme Automatic from Alpina's cult collection is appreciated today for its unique and exceptional characteristics, especially for the unique shape of its case. The reduced dimensions of the timepiece combine the perfection of the circle with the power of the cushion shape, a square with rounded corners and slightly curved, flowing lines.

With this rare design in watchmaking, Alpina emphasises its mastery of traditional finishing. The surface of the bezel is vertically satin-finished and brushed, as are the three links of the steel bracelet. The cushion is satin-finished in a circle, creating a striking contrast, while all the edges of the case and bracelet are decorated with a shiny mirror polish to emphasise the alignment lines. With these playful refinements, the Alpiner Extreme Automatic subtly combines the allure of beautiful Swiss Made watches with the power of a tool watch that is ideally suited for outdoor exploration.

The cushion-shaped housing gives the Alpiner its iconic look.

At the heart of this sophisticated piece is the iconic dial from the Alpiner Extreme range, whose new colour was designed especially for this model. The motif with the raised triangle is now in an exclusive ice blue and refers to Alpina's original playground, the Alpine glaciers, from which it has taken the bright and luminous tone of water trapped in ice, combined with a soft shade of stone grey.

The hour indices and the hour and minute hands are coated with luminous material to make them easy to read even in the dark. In daylight, the faceted indices always form an angle for the incidence of light - the same applies to each of the three hand-polished hands. The crown at 3 o'clock is fitted with a rubber grip for an excellent grip. Several elements, the dial, counterweight of the second hand, crown and bezel screw, are reminiscent of the Alpina logo, the perfect triangle symbolising the snow-capped peaks of the Alps.

The dial of the new Alpiner Extreme Automatic has an anti-reflective sapphire crystal. This watch for mountain adventurers is water-resistant up to 200 metres and suits an action-packed lifestyle.
