Corum CEO plans global relaunch after management buyout

The Swiss watch brand from La Chaux-de-Fonds, which is celebrating its 70th anniversary this year, is back in Swiss hands. The management buyout was carried out by Haso Mehmedovic, who began his career 15 years ago as a watchmaker at the manufactory and steadily worked his way up to become international sales manager.

He is supported by a small group of unnamed Swiss investors from the luxury and financial sectors. This marks Corum's return to 100 per cent Swiss management, which is firmly rooted in the industry.

Back to the Swiss roots

The Citychamp Watch & Jewellery Group acquired Corum in 2013. The Hong Kong-listed company has guaranteed a smooth transition to the new management with Haso Mehmedovic as CEO. This also includes all industrial and commercial assets - including patents, intellectual property and archives.

The Citychamp Watch & Jewellery Group owns the watch brands Eterna and Rotary, among others, distributes other third-party brands and manufactures low-priced mechanical movements, fashion watches and accessories in the OEM sector for international brands through its subsidiaries.

Founded in 1955, the watch brand Corum is known for its extraordinary creations such as the "Golden Bridge", the "Bubble", the "Admiral" and the "Coin Watch". The distribution network currently comprises 300 PoS worldwide.

Global new beginning

In the current year, Haso Mehmedovic and his team want to focus on strengthening Corum's flagship collections, with a complete global relaunch planned for 2026.

"We will strengthen our sales organisation, consolidate important markets, open up new horizons - and above all put Corum back in the spotlight of collectors and enthusiasts worldwide."

Haso Mehmedovic

Haso Mehmedovic: "We have an enormous opportunity ahead of us: to give Corum back its rightful place in Swiss watchmaking. I know this company inside out, its strengths and its untapped potential. Corum was the very first brand I applied to after graduating in 2011 - and I've never looked back. I grew up with this company and have lived through all the ups and downs with the teams. Today, we are putting bold creativity and innovation back at the centre and building on Corum's unique DNA. We will strengthen our distribution, consolidate key markets, open up new horizons - and above all, put Corum back in the spotlight of collectors and enthusiasts worldwide."

Haso Mehmedovic:

"I am proud to open this new chapter together with a talented and dedicated team that represents the values of Swiss watchmaking and shares a common long-term vision.

We have reached a constructive agreement with Citychamp Watch & Jewellery Group Limited. Whilst safeguarding its own interests, it has shown genuine goodwill and a sincere desire to restore Corum to the place it deserves. A place it should never have left."
