Pequignet: "Royale Paris" with revised format and optimised drive system

At this year's Watches & Wonders, Pequignet unveiled the new "Royale Paris" with a trendy 39.5-millimeter diameter. Since its launch in 2011, the collection, designed for the Calibre Royal, has been a symbol of the French manufacturer.

For the new “Royale Paris,” Pequignet has carefully redesigned the case, dial, bezel, and hands to preserve the timeless aesthetic while offering a contemporary interpretation.

This includes reducing the size of the stainless steel case from 41 to 39.5 millimeters, as well as refining the lugs. A concave recess along the edge of the case and the slightly recessed flanks lend the silhouette additional dynamism. This is complemented by the bezel, which has been slimmed down to 0.75 millimeters, enhancing the presence of the dial. This is surmounted by a slightly domed Glass Box sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating.

This unobstructed view reveals the redesigned dial with all its details, such as the moon phase display with one moon indicator for each of the northern and southern hemispheres. The frames of the moon indicators and the day and date windows have been diamond-polished to create a beautiful light reflection.

Watch lovers will surely enjoy gazing through the transparent caseback at the Calibre Royal just as much as they enjoy the dial. It consists of 318 components, features a bidirectional winding mechanism, and is the first movement developed in France to combine all its complications on a single plate. It is protected by eight international patents.

The large mainspring barrel has been optimized for the new model and now offers a power reserve of 96 hours instead of the previous 88, readable at 8 o'clock. The large date and day displays on the same axis also allow for instantaneous switching and adjustment at any time. This Calibre Royal achieves a precision of +2/-2 seconds per day, which meets the highest chronometry standards.

It is entirely developed, manufactured, and assembled at the Pequignet factory in Morteau. All components are sourced within a 80-kilometer radius.
