Reduced design meets complex technology - BA111OD presents the "Chapter 4 Infinity Flying Tourbillon"

Affordable Haute Horlogerie – how to enjoy the 2019 Swiss brand BA111OD founded by Thomas Baillod In addition to models like the "Chapter 7" – a chronometer-certified three-hand watch with a Soprod automatic movement for 1,000 CHF – timepieces with sophisticated complications are regularly introduced.

The tourbillon clearly captivates the founder and fans of the brand. Following the "Chapter 4 Infinity Flying Tourbillon" – featuring a flying tourbillon, moon phase, and small seconds display – which premiered at the spring trade fairs, another whirlwind chapter now follows.

Its name: "Chapter 4 Onyx Flying Tourbillon." This timepiece is a kind of upgrade to the "Chapter 4.7 Onyx Tourbillon," which will soon be discontinued from the collection.

Technology combines with minimalist design. Baillod chose onyx as the canvas, as its deep, light-absorbing black underscores the lightness of the floating tourbillon and draws the viewer's gaze precisely onto it. This gaze is unobstructed by the anti-reflective sapphire crystal, including the brand's logo, discreetly presented as a tone-on-tone signature.

The 41-millimeter 904L stainless steel case, with its concave profile and slim bezel, offers protection. It houses the BA.02 hand-wound movement (based on the BCP Tourbillon) with a leisurely 3-hertz beat and a generous 120-hour power reserve.

"We wanted a watch that appeals to the senses before appealing to reason. Something rare, yet legible. Quiet, yet powerful. 'Chapter 4' is a tribute to gravity, purity, and the obsession with beauty," explains Thomas Baillod.
