Porsche Design goes Japan and Poland - the watch configurator completes further stages of its expansion tour
On July 1, 2020, the configuration program of the watch brand, which is a wholly owned Porsche subsidiary and has had its own manufacturing facility since 2014, was launched.
Following Germany, the USA, Great Britain, Switzerland, France, Austria, Canada, Portugal, and Spain, Porsche drivers and fans in Japan and Poland can now also create and order their very own personal sports car for their wrists in the look of the 911 online, in the local language and currency. Only then will custom production begin.

The principle of the configurator from the automotive sector is transferred to the watch segment.
Japan loves Porsche
Japan has historically been an important market for Porsche and represents a deep appreciation for German engineering and clean, functional design. The official Porsche Club Japan has existed for almost 40 years. Furthermore, the country has a long tradition in the world of mechanical watches and is home to renowned watch brands.
With the localized configurator, Porsche Design is now strengthening its presence in this Porsche-affine market.
Pole position in Poland
Poland, on the other hand, is a young, highly dynamic market. With strong economic development and increasing interest in high-quality luxury goods, demand for exclusive mechanical wristwatches is continuously growing.
As one of the most populous countries in Europe with a growing, internationally oriented and lifestyle-conscious middle and upper class, Poland represents a strategically important market expansion for Porsche Design.
Gerhard Novak, General Manager Porsche Design Timepieces, emphasizes:

"With the custom-built Timepieces configurator, we have realized a revolutionary concept that gives our customers the opportunity to create a tailor-made luxury watch that perfectly matches their Porsche 911 or creates one entirely according to their own ideas. With the launch of the 'sports cars for the wrist' in Japan and Poland, we are making this unique offering available in two additional important markets, serving the growing interest there for high-quality, customized timepieces with Porsche DNA."
The ticking Porsche for your wrist
Each custom-built timepiece can be customized down to the smallest detail to suit your Porsche 911 or your personal preferences. Customers can switch directly from the vehicle configurator to the watch configurator, where their selected equipment options are automatically transferred to the timepiece.

From the case with bezel to the dial color ring, the bracelet and the rotor to the engraving, there are numerous customization options.
For example, the obligatory titanium case is available in two finishes: glass bead blasted or black coated. The dial remains the matte black typical of Porsche Design, while the color ring around the dial is configurable in 148 original Porsche colors—all standard paint finishes available for the 911 as well as the colors from the "Color of Your Choice" program, including historic and iconic shades like Gulf Blue and Star Ruby.

Leather straps made from original Porsche interior leather with original vehicle thread underscore the direct connection to the sports car. All color variants available for the 911 are also available. Titanium straps in the case finish are also available.

The individually selectable winding rotor is a detailed replica of the light alloy wheels – including color variations and the central locking or hub cap with the Porsche crest.

In addition to the WERK 01.100 chronograph caliber, the WERK 04.110 with a Globetimer function for displaying a second time zone has been available since last year. All Porsche Design movements are COSC-certified.

An individual laser engraving on the case back – for example the vehicle identification number (VIN) – completes the personalization.
The base watch costs €5,950 (RRP).
