Maurice Lacroix celebrates his 50th birthday with a multifaceted trio
To mark its 50th anniversary, the Maurice Lacroix brand presents a limited edition trio called “1975 Legacy,” intended as a tribute to the company’s home in the Swiss district of Franches-Montagnes.
The story of Maurice Lacroix began in 1975 in the small village of Saignelégier in the Swiss district of Freiberge, also known as the District des Franches-Montagnes.
The three 40-millimeter watches share the same case finish, yet each exhibits its own unique character. They also feature a case finish normally reserved for the "Masterpiece" collection. They also share the Vagues du Jura dial design, which is unique to Maurice Lacroix.
The pattern depicts the hilly landscapes surrounding the manufactory. This motif, also used for the first time in a "Masterpiece" model, gives the dial a visual depth.

Stéphane Waser, Managing Director of Maurice Lacroix, emphasizes: "The team of designers, watchmakers, and artisans who work in our manufacture play a significant role in our success, and I am incredibly grateful to each and every one of them. I find it equally valuable that our company is located in the Franches-Montagnes, a place whose breathtaking beauty is reflected in our products. Just as it is reflected in everything we do, and that makes us, as a community, so proud of our roots in Saignelégier. On the occasion of our anniversary, we would like to look to the future and strive to continue demonstrating the same passion and dedication that has characterized our journey since 1975."
“1975 Automatic Saignelégier Blue”
For the blue version of the “1975 Automatic,” limited to 888 pieces, Maurice Lacroix drew inspiration from its own archives and breathed new life into a historic color: The shade Saignelégier Blue celebrates its comeback for this limited edition.

The time is displayed via faceted dauphinoise hands for the hours and minutes, as well as hand-applied trapezoidal indices. At 3 o'clock, a silver-framed date window with white numerals sits on a blue disc, the color of which matches the main dial. A slender central seconds hand complements these functions.
The stainless steel case, water-resistant to 10 bar, features brushed and polished surfaces and houses the ML155 automatic movement with a 56-hour power reserve, visible through the sapphire crystal caseback. It is flatter than the caliber of the standard "1975" model, enabling this limited edition to measure just nine millimeters. The movement's finishes include perlage, Colimaçon, and an oscillating weight decorated with the Vagues du Jura motif.
The "1975 Automatic Saignelégier Blue" is held on the wrist by a matching leather strap and features Maurice Lacroix's "Easy Strap Exchange" system. (RRP €1,600)
“1975 Automatic GMT Silver Mist”
Water-resistant to 5 bar and limited to 200 pieces, the "1975 Legacy Model" offers an additional time zone display. This time, the dial captures the rolling landscapes at dawn, when the view is still shrouded in a silvery veil of mist, lending the Vagues du Jura motif a tranquil aura. The textured surface of the dial is further enhanced by the box-shaped vintage sapphire crystal.

The hands and hour markers feature the same design as the other "1975 Legacy" models, but here they are finished in golden tones. A closer look reveals an additional coaxial, skeletonized hand with a red tip, indicating "home time."
There's no open view of the inner workings here; instead, a depiction of two horses standing beneath fir trees adorns the closed caseback—a reference to the famous Freiberger, a horse breed from the Jura region. The ML165 automatic movement behind it offers a 56-hour power reserve.
The "1975 Automatic GMT Silver Mist" is worn on a black strap and also offers flexibility thanks to the "Easy Strap Exchange" system. (RRP €2,200)
“1975 Automatic Day Date Sapin Green”
The 500 pieces of the "1975 Automatic Day Date Sapin Green," water-resistant to 5 bar, complete the anniversary trio this fall. It also features the Vagues du Jura motif on the dial, but this time in the signature Sapin Green color, inspired by the fir trees (in French, "sapin") on the hills surrounding Saignelégier. The dial is also housed under a box-shaped sapphire crystal.

In keeping with the other two models of the 1975, the other dial elements consist of dauphine hands for the hours and minutes, trapezoidal hour indices, a date display at 3 o'clock, and a central seconds hand. However, as its name suggests, the watch also features a day of the week indicator located at 12 o'clock.
The closed caseback also features the horse motif as in the "Silver Mist" version. Behind it, the automatic ML 168 with 38 hours
