Oldtimer Grand Prix at the Nürburgring: Not without Junghans!

Junghans is the Official Timing Partner of the 52nd Oldtimer Grand Prix at the Nürburgring. The Black Forest-based brand is exclusively presenting two very limited new watch models.

On August 3, the 52nd edition of the Oldtimer Grand Prix will take place at the Nürburgring, where you can experience the beauty and speed of historic racing and sports cars. The Junghans watch factory has been the official timing partner of the Oldtimer Grand Prix since 2016. For fans of racing and watches, Junghans presents two special timepieces this year:

The limited edition models of the 1972 Automatic and the 1972 Chronoscope. These stylish watches are available in a limited edition of 52 each for the 52nd Oldtimer Grand Prix. With their sporty design and an attractive contrast of black and bright neon yellow, the watches exude a pure motorsport atmosphere. German racing icons, whose portraits are engraved on the cases of both edition watches, reinforce this feeling.

For mechanics enthusiasts: 1972 Automatic OGP Edition 2025

Anyone who enjoys mechanical watchmaking will enjoy the 1972 Automatic edition model. The watch captivates with its striking case, which revives the style of the 1970s. Junghans set standards in sports timekeeping at the time, providing official timekeeping services at numerous major events – including Formula 1 races in Europe. The cushion-shaped case is water-resistant to 30 bar, which is also supported by the two screw-lock crowns. One crown is used to wind and set the watch, while the other operates the yellow, rotating inner ring, which provides a sporty contrast to the black dial.

A sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides and striking hands with luminous material ensure impeccable legibility in a wide range of lighting conditions. The watch is powered by the reserved automatic caliber J830 movement, which offers at least 48 hours of power reserve when fully wound. In addition to the time, the watch also displays the date. The watch is delivered with a steel link bracelet and a perforated black leather strap with a yellow leather lining.

Even more sporting spirit: 1972 Chronoscope OGP Edition 2025

The 1972 Chronoscope also features a sporty color scheme: Like the automatic model, it captivates with a black dial with yellow contrasts. The dial border, stop-second hand, and both hands in the subdials are in this color. It is powered by the quartz caliber J645.83, which, in addition to the date and 24-hour display, also offers a short-time measurement. Stop times can be measured to the nearest 1/5 of a second. The 1972 Chronoscope OGP Edition 2025 demonstrates both sporting spirit and everyday practicality.

It also features a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal for excellent legibility. Thanks to its water resistance up to 10 bar, even driving in the rain in an open-top race car is no problem. It is worn on a black leather strap inspired by historic driver's gloves – with three circular cutouts on each half of the strap, a yellow leather lining, and a pin buckle. A yellow interchangeable strap with a black leather lining in the same design as the black strap is included.

The Junghans watch factory looks forward to spending time with owners and friends of historic racing and sports cars, enjoying fuel-related discussions and fast laps on the Nürburgring Grand Prix track.
