Junghans is Official Timing Partner of the 52nd Oldtimer Grand Prix at the Nürburgring

In keeping with this, the Black Forest watch manufacturer presents two limited special models that are guaranteed to be eye-catchers.

The "Green Hell" is calling! At the beginning of August, the engines of historic racing and sports cars will once again roar at the Nürburgring. The 52nd Oldtimer Grand Prix (OGP) will attract petrol-loving enthusiasts to the Eifel region from August 1 to 3, 2025.

Junghans has been an Official Timing Partner since 2016 and has two special timepieces in store for racing and watch fans: the limited edition models of the “1972 Automatic” and the “1972 Chronoscope” – 52 watches each for the 52nd OGP.

German racing icons, whose portraits are engraved on the backs of the two edition watches, underline the motorsport connection.

“1972 Automatic OGP Edition 2025”

This timepiece is distinguished by its striking 1970s-style stainless steel case: 46.9 millimeters from 9 o'clock to the crown guard. At the time, Junghans set standards in sports timekeeping and provided official timekeeping at numerous major events, including Formula 1 races in Europe.

The cushion-shaped case is water-resistant to 30 bar, thanks in part to the two screw-lock crowns. One is used to wind and set the watch, while the other operates the yellow, rotating inner ring, which provides a sporty contrast to the black dial.

A sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides and striking hands with luminous material ensure unobstructed readability in a wide variety of lighting conditions.

The watch is powered by the automatic caliber J830, which offers at least 48 hours of power reserve when fully wound. In addition to the time, it also displays the date.

The watch comes with a steel link bracelet and a perforated black leather strap with a yellow leather lining. (RRP €1,790)

“1972 Chronoscope OGP Edition 2025”

This special model, with a 43.3-millimeter stainless steel case, features the same color scheme as its automatic sister—a black dial with yellow contrasts. The dial edge, stop-second hand, and the two hands in the subdials are accentuated in this color.

The quartz caliber J645.83 serves as the power source, offering a date and 24-hour display as well as a short-time measurement function. Stop times can be measured to within 1/5 of a second.

The "1972 Chronoscope OGP Edition 2025" demonstrates – like a good sports car – not only sporting spirit but also everyday practicality. It features scratch-resistant sapphire crystal for comfortable readability and is water-resistant to 10 bar.
