Cheeky fruits from Van Cleef & Arpels

The French luxury brand, which recently launched a new Boutique in Frankfurt am Main opened, was inspired by the vitality and colorfulness of berries. More specifically, raspberries and blueberries.

“Perlée Extraordinaire Fruits Enchantés Myrtille” and “Perlée Extraordinaire Fruits Enchantés Framboise” are the promising names of the two new timepieces with lush 3D fruit scenes on the dials.

Lush fruits in enamel

Sun-drenched blueberries and raspberries unfold here thanks to façonné enamel, embedded in an artfully crafted 30-millimeter white gold case framed with gold pearls. It houses a reliable Swiss quartz movement.

The bulbous shapes and luminous shine of the berries are created by the Façonné enamel technique, which Van Cleef & Arpels developed specifically for its watches in 2023. Delicate leaves in miniature painting envelop the fruits, which rise against a textured gold background.

Time poetry with elves and ladybugs

Two fairies in sculpted rose or white gold enter this enchanting forest scene—poetic beings who symbolize the passage of time in the brand's symbolism. Their diamond-encrusted wings reflect the sparkle of the gemstones adorning the case edge. Fine engravings adorn the back of each watch: a ladybug on the "Framboise" model and a butterfly on the "Myrtille" version.

Jewelry and watchmaking craftsmanship

In the "Extraordinary Dials" collection, to which these new pieces belong, enamel artists, engravers, gem cutters, miniaturists, and stone setters combine their artistic skills with the expertise of Van Cleef & Arpels watchmakers. Each dial is composed like a miniature work of art and can require up to 300 hours of work.
