"They're crazy, the French!" - Chronofixe brings Asterix to the clock face
At the second meeting between the French watch brand Chronofixe, founded in 1857, and the clever Gaul, the French artist and self-proclaimed “vandal” of the Swiss watch industry, Romaric André, alias seconde/seconde, once again had his fingers in the pie.
This latest Asterix edition is a homage to the 16th comic book volume by René Goscinny (text) and Albert Uderzo (illustrations), which first appeared in 1970 under the title "Asterix in Switzerland." The story plays extensively with Swiss clichés: Cleanliness, neutrality, banks, chocolate, watches, mountains, fondue and so on.

The watch, designed by seconde/seconde, is as usual ironic and interprets the company Ferner, which operates a “safe hotel” in the comic.

The bidirectional rotating bezel imitates the number wheel of a safe, while the dial shows the Gallic hero Asterix in a bizarre pose:
His right ear is pressed against the dial, his left hand turning the bezel – as if he were trying to crack the code.
The crown is appropriately modeled after a safe handle.
The case back is engraved with “Aussi Hérmetique qu'un Coffre Helvétique” – in English: “Airtight like a Swiss safe”: a playful reference to Swiss banking secrecy, which here stands for water resistance up to 20 bar.

The Asterix Edition is powered by Sellita's proven Swiss-made SW200 automatic movement, which offers a 41-hour power reserve. It is protected by the 37-millimeter stainless steel case and transmits its precision to the matte black dial.
The display is provided by luminescent hands and indices under sapphire glass.
This limited edition will only be available from August 25 to December 26, 2025, on the Chronofixe watch brand website.
