Less for Dress - Citizen presents ultra-flat quartet

One of the most important features of a dress watch is its slim design. After all, you don't want it to catch on your shirt or blouse cuff with every movement when wearing formal attire. This is usually achieved with a thickness of less than ten millimeters. Citizen's new "Suratto" models significantly undercut this value, ensuring an elegant fit between the watch and the outfit.

Citizen's four new dress watches have a total height of just 4.71 millimeters: from the screwed case back of the 38.4-millimeter stainless steel case to the sapphire crystal protecting the dial – even for a quartz watch, this is an exceptionally flat architecture.

The limited space is filled by the in-house Eco-Drive solar movement G872, which provides environmentally friendly propulsion and a power reserve of 210 days. Accuracy is +/- 15 seconds per month.

This is transferred to four dial variants in silver, blue, green and pink, to which the color of the leather straps is coordinated.

However, the new "Suratto" models are by no means the slimmest watches from Citizen. The leader in this category is the "Eco-Drive One," which was introduced to the watch world in 2016 with a thickness of just 2.98 millimeters: to date, it remains the world's slimmest light-powered analog watch. The movement itself is just one millimeter thick.
