Rainbow: Piaget brings colour to the "Possession" collection

Jewellery in the fascinating colour gradient of the rainbow has always been popular. Now the Maison Piaget is also taking its iconic "Possession" line to a new, expressive level with the rainbow look - with a cheerful set consisting of a necklace, bracelet and ring.

Further development of an icon

The "Possession" collection by Piaget was created in 1990, when it was Piaget's first foray into the world of everyday jewellery. Prior to this, the Maison had dedicated itself to exceptional pieces of jewellery for decades.

The "Possession" ring, which is artfully embedded in another ring and inspired by the House's watchmaking techniques, is both tangible and mysterious. Now, with its new rainbow look, it delights an audience in search of bold, expressive jewellery. A true contemporary talisman, the rotating ring invites play and constant interaction - an intuitive gesture that reassures and connects.

After the "Possession" collection was provided with the iconic gold engraving, the so-called "Decor Palace", it now presents itself in the changing and magnetic nuances of the colourful coloured gemstones: between diamonds, pink or yellow sapphires or luminous tsavorites. The whole is emphasised by the filigree gold work of the "Decor Palace". This unique artisanal process is a testament to the virtuoso expertise of Piaget's métiers d'or.

The art of colour

The rainbow-look novelties are part of a love story between Piaget and colour that began in the 1960s. Initially, ornamental stones such as turquoise, malachite, tiger's eye and lapis lazuli were used, followed by precious stones that adorned the bezel of the first jewellery watches before becoming the masters of these unique creations.

Each stone adorning the new "Possession" creations - diamond, ruby, sapphire, tsavorite - is selected by a gemologist according to its colour and size to ensure a perfect gradation of rainbow colours - a technical feat. This complexity of colour composition is complemented by the meticulousness of the "Decor Palace", another unmistakable code of the House. This particular goldsmith's work was created in 1961 and rediscovered in the Maison's archives in the early 2000s: it transforms gold into a textured surface with unique, irregular reflections. Each piece of jewellery is therefore unique, reflecting the work of a goldsmith and perpetuating the unique charm that surrounds Piaget's creations.
