Homage to the autumn moon: The Tudor 1926 Luna
In keeping with the traditional Moon Festival, which is celebrated in China on 6 October, Tudor is presenting its first model with a moon phase complication, the Tudor 1926 Luna. Taiwanese actor and musician Jay Chou was involved in the design of the new watch as Tudor's brand ambassador, lending it a touch of mysticism and magic.
The magic of the moon
The moon has always played an important role for people in mythology - including the traditional Chinese moon festival. Here, the moon symbolises cohesion and family unity. In Roman mythology, the moon goddess Luna embodies the beauty and secrets of the celestial body.
Inspired by this symbolic power, Tudor created its first watch with a moon phase complication, the Tudor 1926 Luna. Jay Chou, a popular actor, music star and composer from Taiwan, channelled his creativity into the design. The Tudor brand ambassador combines modern and traditional Chinese elements in his music; his creativity and creative style are perfect for adding a touch of magic to the Tudor "1926" line.

A Tudor classic reinterpreted
The subtle sophistication of the Tudor "1926" line was particularly suited to the redesign with moon phase. This line is named after the year 1926, when the founder of Rolex, Hans Wilsdorf, first registered "The Tudor" as a brand name. The model series perfectly embodies the Tudor philosophy by representing the beauty and high quality of the watches.

The result of the collaboration between the Tudor design team and Jay Chou is as magnificent as a glorious full moon illuminating the night sky in autumn. Three brand new dials of the "1926" with a 39 mm stainless steel case feature a moon phase display in a perfectly shaped bevel at the 6 o'clock position. They are blue, black or champagne-coloured. Jay Chou himself wears the champagne-coloured version, which pays special tribute to the golden autumn moon.
The moon phase display is different for each dial. Jay Chou's vision for the model with a champagne-coloured dial has been fantastically realised in these watches: The golden disc represents the moon, which is hidden behind a jet-black "cloud". This slowly disappears when the moon waxes and reappears when it wanes.

The special feature of the moon phase
The elegant design of the dials is reminiscent of the brand's origins with its vintage touch. Inside the Tudor 1926 Luna beats the Swiss calibre T607-9 - a self-winding chronometer with an integrated moon phase display.
Why is the moon phase complication so fascinating? In most years, the full moon shines twelve times a year. It is part of the lunar cycle of about 29.5 days. However, as our calendar does not correspond exactly to the phases of the moon, it can happen that in some years there are 13 full moons. The clock therefore measures the 24-hour days precisely and also the lunar cycle.

The Tudor 1926 Luna, with a 39 mm diameter stainless steel case, satin-finished and polished stainless steel bracelet and dial in blue, black or champagne with applied indices, costs €2,610.
