Watch rarities at Dorotheum: Audemars Piguet, Breguet, Cartier, Patek, Rolex & Co. - the hammer falls on 21 November

Technical sophistication, limited editions and prominent previous owners: the wristwatch and pocket watch auction at Dorotheum in Vienna on 21 November 2025 offers many exciting models. Bids can be placed live in the auction room or online via live bidding. A myDOROTHEUM registration is required for the latter.

Highlights from Patek Philipp and Cartier

With an estimated value of €260,000 to €400,000, the "Chiming Jump Hour" (Ref. 5275) from the year 2014 from Patek Philippe a highlight of the auction. This extremely rare wristwatch was produced in a limited edition of 175 pieces to mark the 175th anniversary of the Swiss manufactory. It combines three simultaneously jumping displays for hours, minutes and seconds. An acoustic complication also sounds when the hour strikes.

Another highlight is the "Cintrée Dual Time" from Cartier The travelling clock with two dials in Art Deco design comes from an old European aristocratic estate. The estimated value is €20,000 to €40,000.

Watches for the smaller budget

And there is also something for the smaller purse. For example the "Mystérieuse" from the 1960s by Jaeger-LeCoultrewhose hands appear to float above the dial thanks to rotating discs. The clock also has a special provenance. It comes from the estate of the Austrian singer and actor Peter Kraus. (estimated value €1,200-1,800).
