Dorotheum auction in October: Precious objects by Dr Antje-Katrin Kühnemann
An exciting auction date in October: Dorotheum is auctioning jewelry and watches from the collection of German physician and television presenter Dr. Antje-Katrin Kühnemann. The online auction will take place on October 23 at 1 p.m. Among the items are many extravagant designs with a unique character.

The life of a special woman
Dr. Antje-Katrin Kühnemann was not only a well-trained physician but also a well-known television presenter who managed to combine her medical background with educational and entertainment television. In the 1970s and 1980s, the German physician hosted various popular afternoon programs, including a gymnastics series, a children's TV series on biology, "Health! Medicine on First," and "The Consultation Hour. Health Advice." The media consistently praised her for her simple and understandable explanations of medical topics, as well as her warm and welcoming personality.
Antje-Katrin Kühneman received numerous awards and honors during her life, including the Golden Camera in 1979, the Bambi in 1982, the Federal Cross of Merit in 1986 and the Bavarian Order of Merit in 1999.
Dr. Antje-Katrin Kühnemann passed away on March 3 of this year at the age of 80, just a few weeks after her milestone birthday.

Estate auction at Dorotheum Vienna
Dr. Antje-Katrin Kühnemann was a self-proclaimed jewelry lover who not only collected it but also wore it every day. The renowned Viennese auction house Dorotheum now has the honor of auctioning off a significant portion of her estate.
The auction will take place on October 23rd. It is an online auction and starts at 1 p.m. Viewing is possible until October 22nd.

We present some highlights from the doctor and presenter's collection.



Among the jewelry pieces Dr. Kühnemann collected during her lifetime are not only designs featuring colored gemstones and diamonds, but also elegant pearl jewelry. A highlight is this special white gold ring featuring a flower design made of rubies with a South Sea pearl at its center. The ring was made by Schreiner and comes with a certificate. Its estimated value is between €4,000 and €6,000.


Another highlight: special jewelry watches
In addition to beautiful jewelry, Dr. Antje-Katrin Kühnemann also owned a selection of special watches with the character of a piece of jewelry. This includes a model from Schreiner featuring a diamond-studded flower around the dial, which is also set with diamonds. The watch strap is made of black fabric. The estimated value for this watch is between 12,000 and 18,000 euros.
Another watch from the estate is a Ulysse Nardin model with a mother-of-pearl dial, a diamond-studded stainless steel case, and a pink leather strap. The estimated value for this watch is between €1,200 and €1,800.
A third, rather striking watch model worn by Dr. Kühnemann is from the Gianni Versace brand. It is a gold watch set with diamonds, a contrasting black dial, and subdials for the small seconds, 30-minute counters, and 12-hour counters. The estimated value for this watch is between €8,000 and €12,000.

The auction on October 23 will feature a total of 231 items available for online auction. Additional pieces from the estate of Dr. Antje-Katrin Kühnemann, primarily from the House of Cartier, will be offered in a later "Important and Noble Jewels" auction on November 20. This will be a live auction at the Palais Dorotheum in Vienna.
