WatchTime Düsseldorf 2025: New “Essence” quartet from Formex with new size and new colors
Founded in 2000, the Swiss-made brand Formex—a portmanteau of FORMe EXtrême (extreme form in French)—is expanding its "Essence" collection with four new 41-millimeter stainless steel models. They fill the gap between the existing 39- and 43-millimeter formats.

The new Formex quartet, water-resistant to 10 bar, features the new, patented, micro-adjustable butterfly clasp (three settings: 0, 3, and 6 mm). Developed in collaboration with sister company Dexel, this allows adjustment without opening the buckle—even to tighten it. Thanks to the quick-change system, you can switch between leather, rubber, nylon, and stainless steel in a snap, without the need for tools.

Also new is the screw-down crown, which was specially designed for Formex's patented, shock-absorbing case design.

The four new gradient dial options come in classic blue, burgundy, brown, and white. All feature the signature CNC-milled horizontal line pattern and beveled date window. These combine with vertically brushed surfaces and diamond-polished chamfers on the edges of the bezel, case, bracelet, and clasp, right down to every applied index and hand.

Raphael Granito, CEO Formex Watch SA:
"The new case size of the 'Essence 41 mm' is largely based on feedback from our community. It sits perfectly between 39 and 43 millimeters and wears well on more wrists – with the same versatility and performance. Speaking of which: Our new micro-adjustable butterfly clasp is a real game-changer. It offers more flexibility and comfort in the fit – while remaining visually completely seamless."

Inside, Sellita's proven and COSC-certified SW200-1 automatic caliber with a 41-hour power reserve works, protected by a titanium case. The elaborate decoration is complemented by the Formex rotor.

RRP: €1,690 (stainless steel strap with butterfly clasp), €1,590 (leather/rubber/nylon with folding clasp)
