Always on course with the new compass watch from Bell & Ross
The new “BR-03 GMT Compass” adopts the dual time display concept that Bell & Ross introduced in 2007 with the “BR 03-51 GMT Titanium”. This function allows the time to be read in two time zones simultaneously.

The new Bell & Ross model is water-resistant to 10 bar and features an anodized 24-hour aluminum bezel. The blue area represents daytime hours, the black area nighttime hours.
This round bezel is mounted on a square 42-millimeter stainless steel case – typical of Bell & Ross's design concept. The four screws at the case corners are also characteristic of the brand and inspired by the instruments in aircraft cockpits.
The watch is powered by the automatic movement caliber BR-CAL.303 with a power reserve of 54 hours.
A functioning compass watch
The compass motif on the dial of the new "BR-03 GMT Compass" is not only decorative but also functional. With its degree-marked scale, the watch can be used as a simple navigational instrument in bright sunlight.

By combining the compass rose scale and the 24-hour hand of the GMT function, a direction can be determined. This hand has a diamond shape – inspired by classic magnetic compasses. The four cardinal directions (north, south, east, west) are marked on the altitude ring (at 6, 12, 18 and 24 o'clock).

To determine a direction, one orients oneself – as in orienteering – by the position of the sun: The watch is held flat and parallel to the ground, then the GMT hand is set to solar time.

Example: In Geneva during the summer, the difference between solar time and legal time is two hours. When it is officially 2 p.m., it is only 12 p.m. according to solar time. Therefore, you align the red hand with the sun – the direction can then be read directly from the scale of the altitude ring.

The “BR-03 GMT Compass”, limited to 500 pieces, is worn on a black rubber strap or a black synthetic strap with Velcro closure. (RRP €4,900)
