„Collection 1“: Seiko’s „Power Design Project“ is back.
Thinking outside the box, redesigning: The „Power Design Project“ breaks with convention and demonstrates what watch design can achieve beyond the classic path. Launched as an internal experiment at Seiko between 2001 and 2009, the project is now back with a fresh perspective on the future.
In 2025, this will become a standalone collection. The first three models, in silver, black, and gold, are named "Rebirth." These watches, limited to a total of 500 pieces, will be available exclusively at Seiko boutiques worldwide.

The first collection is based on the historic "Tisse" model from 1984. Fundamentally redesigned, the unisex reinterpretation presents itself over 40 years later as a modern accessory that can be worn like a stylish bracelet.

The design follows the principle of an open, gender-neutral identity. Seiko's chief designer, Yuya Suganuma, describes his approach as a search for new forms of expression for timekeeping. The goal was a design that works regardless of gender or age.

The stainless steel case – in its pure form, with titanium carbide or gold plating – visually merges with the upper bracelet, while the links above and below differ significantly in size and shape. This creates a look that deliberately sets itself apart from classic watches.

Suganuma drew inspiration from current fashion trends. Eye-catching bracelets are very popular again, while watches in the style of jewelry are rare.

The original „Tisse“ from the Seiko archives provided the ideal basis for this. Its relaxed fit and uniform link structure were carefully refined to create a contemporary design.

A key element is the symbolic division of the watch into two parts. The side at 12 o'clock, visible to others, and the side at 6 o'clock, visible to oneself, are designed differently. Each side represents a facet of individual identity and reflects the idea of diversity and the spirit of the times, explains Seiko.
