Why "MoonSwatch" enthusiasts are interested in the Swiss weather forecast
The hype surrounding „MoonSwatch“, which, from its launch on March 26, 2022, shook up the watch market for a long time and caused collectors to queue up in front of the appropriate Swatch Store at any time of day or night, is over.
The „MoonSwatch“ collection has become (almost) a normal collection – with many fans and plenty of potential. The queues have disappeared, and not every new release is newsworthy. The latest „MoonSwatch“ is a little different. Each model in the „Mission to Earthphase – Moonshine Gold“ series is practically unique. And the brand has also come up with a new sales approach.

The "Mission to Earthphase – Moonshine Gold" watch from Swatch can only be purchased when it snows in Switzerland.
On December 4th, the watch was available worldwide in all Swatch stores. Since then, the "Mission to Earthphase – Moonshine Gold" can only be purchased if it snows in Switzerland, and only until the end of winter on March 20, 2022.

Switzerland and snow are inextricably linked. This is symbolized by a snowflake design laser-etched onto the moon phase display.
The key point: No two snowflakes are exactly alike – and therefore none of the new „MoonSwatch“ models are alike.
Otherwise, the new „MoonSwatch“ has the same dial design as its predecessors, including the earth phase display and a moon phase display decorated with Omega Moonshine gold.
MoonSwatch with moon phase and Earth phase
Introduced in 2024, the Earth phase is a new complication from Swatch that shows how the Earth appears from the Moon. Just like the lunar phases, the Earth phases also follow a 29.5-day cycle, only in reverse. So, when there is a full moon, it is also the "New Earth" phase, and vice versa.

In addition, at 9 o'clock an illustration from the world of Snoopy can be seen – fitting for the season with a snowy winter motif.

Like all Bioceramic MoonSwatch models, this quartz timepiece is crafted from Swatch's patented Bioceramic material and incorporates many features of Omega's Speedmaster Moonwatch. These include an asymmetrical 42mm case and the characteristic tachymeter scale with the dot above the ninety. The battery cover is decorated with an Earth-inspired design.
