Art Nouveau and Bauhaus reinterpreted

MY MAGPIE Vienna reinterprets design history and shows that modern luxury can also be light, sustainable and culturally charged.

Founded by the trained industrial designer Stefanie Klausegger, MY MAGPIE combines art historical references with innovative manufacturing. The jewelry pieces are made from flexible, laser-sintered polyamide and are sometimes complemented with elements of gold-plated 925 sterling silver. The result is jewelry that is visually striking yet pleasantly lightweight to wear – designed for everyday life, not for display.

Viennese Modernism as a design foundation

The designs draw inspiration from the rich formal language of Viennese Art Nouveau: architectural details, classic furniture, and ornamental patterns are abstracted and translated into contemporary jewelry forms. Elements of the Vienna Secession or the iconic Thonet weave reappear in modern interpretations. Each piece of jewelry thus tells its own story – a subtle homage to art and culture that lives on in everyday wear.

Vienna itself serves as a constant source of inspiration for Klausegger. Walks through the city become studies of lines, surfaces, and rhythms, which are later materialized as forms of jewelry.

Bauhaus as a new source of inspiration

MY MAGPIE is currently expanding its design horizons to include the German Bauhaus style. Icons such as Marianne Brandt's teapot, Mart Stam's cantilever chair, and Kandinsky's abstract color worlds are incorporated into new designs. The result is jewelry that doesn't simply quote design history, but rather reinterprets it – clear, minimalist, and poetic at the same time.

Technology with a purpose

Production takes place using selective laser sintering, a precise 3D printing process that produces virtually no waste. Unused material is recycled and reused. In newer collections, the technical polyamide deliberately enters into a dialogue with classic jewelry materials such as gold-plated silver – a tension between innovation and tradition.
