Piaget: newly designed boutique on Place Vendôme
It is always exciting to observe newly designed flagship stores of international luxury brands, as they clearly demonstrate how interpretations of brick-and-mortar retail can change. Boutiques are increasingly evolving from classic sales areas to spaces where architecture, design, art, heritage, and the brand world come together.

With the reopening of its historic boutique at 16 Place Vendôme in Paris, Piaget has reinterpreted one of the Maison’s most traditional locations. The flagship store has not only been completely redesigned, but also significantly enlarged. The concept was developed by New York designer Rafael de Cárdenas, whose work often combines architecture, design, and art.
Architecture and design
The façade alone sets it apart from the classic shop windows of Place Vendôme. Round windows and elements made of blue sodalite echo motifs reminiscent of both historic Piaget dials and 20th-century French decorative art.
This design continues inside: colors such as blue, coral, and gold characterize the rooms and form the backdrop for the presentation of the watch and jewelry collections.

Rooms for watches, jewelry, and history
The boutique is designed as a series of rooms—a nod to classic Parisian city apartments. These salons showcase the latest creations from the worlds of watches, jewelry, and high jewelry.
Right in the entrance area, a section displaying historical pieces commemorates important milestones in the history of the Maison. The presentation is complemented by design objects and classic furniture, including Pierre Paulin’s famous Mushroom Chair. A curved staircase leads to the upper floors, where further presentation rooms with a view of Place Vendôme are being created.

With this redesign, the boutique is positioning itself not only as a place of sale, but also as a space where watchmaking, jewelry design, architecture, and art come together.
The expansion of the boutique underscores the importance of Place Vendôme for Piaget—and shows how the company is continuing its design tradition in its retail concept.
