Luminox expands its "Leatherback Sea Turtle" series
With the new “Sea Turtle 0320” series, Luminox presents an evolution of the “Leatherback” sea turtle series: now introducing the loggerhead sea turtle.
The “Sand Turtle” by Luminox is a sand-colored model that brings the collection’s ocean-inspired durability to rugged terrain. The series, known for drawing inspiration from the leatherback turtle—one of the ocean’s most resilient and far-traveling species—now features a monochromatic design specifically crafted for explorers who wish to venture into arid landscapes with challenging conditions.
The new “Sand Turtle” retains its signature design with a 44-millimeter “turtle-shaped” case that is water-resistant to 10 bar. The watch features a robust, protected crown, a lightweight sand-colored fiberglass case, and a matching unidirectional rotating fiberglass bezel, complemented by a sand-colored rubber strap.
Fiberglass is reinforced with embedded glass fibers, providing greater structural strength and impact resistance, while the watch remains exceptionally lightweight at just 50 grams.
The sand-colored camouflage design differs from previous, darker versions, but features the same proven movement: the Swiss Ronda 515 quartz movement.
Luminox Light Technology (LLT) is a central component of the brand’s identity and is also featured in the new “Sand Turtle.” It ensures consistent luminosity for up to 25 years in all lighting conditions, without the need for external charging or pressing a button. On the bezel, a Super-LumiNova dot at the 12 o’clock position provides additional quick orientation in low-light conditions.
