Sustainable Jewellery Day 2026: International Conference in Pforzheim
How is sustainability actually implemented in the jewelry and watch industry? Sustainable Jewellery Day 2026 will showcase solutions, international standards, and new approaches to increasing transparency throughout the entire value chain.
On July 8, 2026, the Federal Association of Jewelry, Watches, Silverware, and Related Industries (BVSU) invites you to Sustainable Jewellery Day 2026 in Pforzheim.
The event brings together leading international organizations, companies, and experts from the jewelry and watch industry to discuss key issues related to sustainability, transparency, and the industry’s future viability.
Sustainable Jewellery Day will take place at the Turmquartier in Pforzheim and is specifically aimed at companies across the entire value chain—from raw material extraction and processing to retail.
Transparency as a key issue in the industry
This year’s event focuses on transparency as the foundation for trust and long-term market success. In an increasingly complex global supply chain, the traceable origin of materials and products is becoming more and more important—both for companies and for consumers.
Dr. Gaetano Cavalieri, President of the World Jewellery Confederation (CIBJO), will open the substantive portion of the day’s program and set the stage for the discussions that follow.
Leading international organizations and practical solutions
Sustainable Jewellery Day 2026 brings together an extraordinary range of international initiatives and institutions, including:
- World Jewellery Confederation (CIBJO)
- Watch & Jewelry Initiative 2030 (WJI 2030)
- Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC)
- Natural Diamond Council (NDC)
- leading players in the diamond value chain, such as De Beers, the Gemological Institute of America (GIA), and A.Gul KG
- the companies Tracr and iTracIT, experts in supply chain tracking
The focus is not only on strategic guidelines, but above all on concrete, practical solutions: from traceability systems and standards to certifications, and on effectively communicating sustainability to a new generation of consumers.
From Standards to Implementation: What Needs to Be Done Now
A key feature of the event is a series of panel discussions that bridge the gap between international standards and the realities of business, highlighting the specific steps needed to successfully integrate sustainability into business models.
