Moon Phase, Ceramic Tourbillon, Grand Feu Enamel, and a Pocket Watch That Will Last for Millennia

Four new releases showcase the diverse approaches currently taken by independent and specialized watch brands: Aerowatch focuses on classic chronograph design with a moon phase, Bianchet is launching its ultra-thin ceramic tonneau tourbillon, Renaud Tixier is concluding the Organica trilogy with Black and Bordeaux models, and URWERK is transforming the UR-1001 Amadeus into an engraved timepiece.

Aerowatch: Chronograph with Moon Phase

Aerowatch is expanding its “Les Grandes Classiques Chrono Moon Phase” collection with a limited edition of 199 pieces. The A 69989 AA05 model combines a 44-millimeter stainless steel case with an anthracite-colored dial, Arabic numerals, chronograph counters, and a moon phase display at 3 o’clock. The chronograph hand and the moving crescent moon add red accents.

Inside, an automatic Valjoux chronograph movement powers the watch. According to Aerowatch, the moon phase and date display can be set using the crown. The transparent case back offers a view of the rhodium-plated movement with blued screws, pearled bridges, and Geneva stripes. The watch is water-resistant to 50 meters and comes with an anthracite-colored leather strap and a folding clasp. The price is 3,280 Swiss francs or 4,200 euros.

Bianchet: UltraFino Tonneau in Ceramic

Bianchet is unveiling two new versions of the UltraFino Tonneau at Geneva Watch Days. The models are available in Deep Blue Ceramic with black accents and in White Ceramic with cobalt blue details. Both incorporate the collection’s integrated tonneau architecture into high-tech ceramic, uniting the case and bracelet into a seamless form.

From a technical standpoint, the in-house UT01 caliber remains the centerpiece: an ultra-thin automatic flying tourbillon movement made of Grade 5 titanium, developed, finished, and assembled in La Chaux-de-Fonds. The caliber is 3.85 millimeters thick, offers a 60-hour power reserve, and, according to Bianchet, is designed to withstand shocks of up to 5,000 G. The case measures 40 by 47.5 millimeters and is 8.9 millimeters thick; the price is 72,500 Swiss francs, excluding taxes.

Renaud Tixier: Monday Organica in Black and Bordeaux

With the Monday Organica Black and Monday Organica Bordeaux, Renaud Tixier concludes a trilogy that began with the Monday Organica Blue. Both new versions are limited to seven pieces each. The brand interprets the dial motif as an organic landscape; its shape is derived from the curves of three components of the RVI2023 caliber.

The black version is crafted in platinum and features black Grand Feu enamel. The Bordeaux version combines 5N rose gold with a deep Bordeaux hue, also rendered in Grand Feu enamel. Both dials are created in collaboration with Ateliers Olivier Vaucher and combine hand engraving, hand chasing, and enamel work. Technically, Renaud Tixier uses the RVI2023 caliber, which features 274 components, a frequency of 2.5 hertz, a power reserve of at least 60 hours, and 187 internal angles.

URWERK: UR-1001 Amadeus

With the UR-1001 Amadeus, URWERK presents a one-of-a-kind timepiece from its “Special Projects” collection. The pocket watch displays not only seconds, minutes, and hours, but also days, nights, months, years, centuries, and millennia. The titanium case was engraved by Florian Güllert.

On the front, the UR-1001 features, among other things, a flying satellite hour display at six o’clock, a retrograde minute hand, a satellite annual calendar at twelve o’clock, a day/night indicator, and a 39-hour power reserve. On the back are an “Oil Change” indicator, a 100-year counter, and a linear 1,000-year indicator.
The engraving makes the UR-1001 Amadeus both a mechanical marvel and a work of art. According to URWERK, Florian Güllert spent approximately 500 hours working on the project, including the design phase. The case measures 106 by 62 by 23 millimeters and is water-resistant to 3 ATM.
