B.R.M Clock Machines: Seven tabletop clocks made of solid aluminum

For the first time, B.R.M Chronographes is applying its motorsport-inspired design to table clocks. The new Clock Machines collection comprises seven models whose shapes are derived from steering wheels, brake discs, aircraft and ship propellers, and various engines. All case and structural components are milled from solid aluminum at the manufactory in Magny-en-Vexin, France.

Seven Mechanical Models

The series begins with “The Steering Wheel,” a 34 × 45-centimeter interpretation of a racing steering wheel. “The Three-Blade,” with its three propeller blades and hinted-at cylinders, is reminiscent of a radial engine. Also included are “The Brake Disc,” the motorcycle models “V-Twin” and “Flat-Twin,” the “Jet Engine”—inspired by an aircraft turbine—and “The Propeller,” which features a base resembling a ship’s hull.

Depending on the model, the objects measure between 23 and 52 centimeters in height. The weight of the models listed ranges from four to 8.5 kilograms. As such, they are less like oversized wristwatches and more like standalone, mechanical-looking sculptures for a desk, shelf, or living room.

Machined from a solid block

B.R.M does not manufacture the parts using a casting process; instead, it machines aluminum blocks on CNC machines. The surfaces are then glass-bead blasted, satin-finished, polished, anodized, or painted, depending on the application. Exposed screws, openwork components, and bold colors create a connection to the brand’s wristwatches.

At the heart of every Clock Machine is a dial set in a screw-down bezel. B.R.M. uses a high-precision quartz movement to power the watch; the battery is designed to last approximately three years. The warranty is valid for ten years.

48 versions, 20 copies each

The seven basic models are available in a total of 48 color and material combinations. Each variant is limited to 20 numbered pieces. The number is engraved on a plaque attached to the item. Additional customization options, such as engravings, company logos, and carbon fiber parts, are also available.

Prices start at 4,100 euros for “The Brake Disc.” “The Steering Wheel” starts at 4,200 euros, and “The Propeller” at 5,800 euros. The V-Twin and Flat-Twin each cost 6,950 euros, “The Three-Blade” starts at 7,300 euros, and “The Jet Engine” costs 8,400 euros. Depending on the model, the first deliveries will begin between September 2026 and February 2027.

From a Wristwatch to an Object

With the Clock Machines, B.R.M. is expanding its product line into a realm where technology, design, and timekeeping intertwine. This move, however, remains closely tied to the origins of the French manufacturer, founded in 1986: the designs draw inspiration from motorsports, aviation, and nautical themes, while production and surface finishing take place in the company’s own workshops.
