100 Years of Nivada Grenchen: The F77 Anniversary Features Natural Stone
Nivada Grenchen is celebrating its 100th anniversary with a special interpretation of the F77. The Anniversary Collection includes seven models with dials made of natural stone. Six models are part of the regular anniversary series, while a seventh version featuring ice agate is limited to 100 pieces.
Seven stones, seven different dials
For the F77 Anniversary, Nivada Grenchen uses labradorite, jade, azurite, black shungite, smoky quartz, and black opal. The natural grain and color distribution vary from stone to stone. As a result, no two dials are exactly alike.
The range extends from dark, almost graphic-looking surfaces to vibrant shades of blue and green. The differences in the materials really stand out, especially within the clean, sporty architecture of the F77.
Ice Agate: A Limited Anniversary Edition
A light blue dial made of ice agate rounds out the collection as the seventh variant. Its blue and white layers create a cooler, cloud-like effect. This version is limited to 100 pieces. The open case back bears the individual serial number of each watch.
La Joux-Perret and a 68-hour power reserve
All seven anniversary models are powered by an automatic movement from La Joux-Perret with a 68-hour power reserve. With this, Nivada combines the F77’s 1970s-inspired design with a contemporary Swiss movement.
Depending on the strap, prices range from 1,660 euros for models with rubber or fabric straps to 1,877 euros for those with steel bracelets.
From a Historic Name to a Rebuilt Brand
Nivada was founded in 1926. After the original brand ceased operations during the quartz crisis, Guillaume Laidet revived the name in 2020. Since then, the company has focused primarily on reissues of historic models from the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s—including the Antarctic, Chronomaster, and F77.
According to the company, Nivada sold more than 10,000 watches worldwide for the first time in 2025. The F77 Anniversary aptly sums up the revived brand’s approach to date: a historically recognizable design, complemented by striking materials and modern movement technology.
