High-Value Logistics: Security Starts Before a Loss Occurs
With RFID- and AI-powered shipment tracking, Parcel Broker is further expanding its services for the shipment of high-value goods. This approach goes beyond traditional insurance coverage: the goal is not only to provide financial protection against risks, but also to identify them as early as possible.
Shipping high-quality watches and jewelry poses unique logistical challenges. Adequate insurance coverage is one of the fundamental requirements. However, even if a lost or damaged package is financially covered, potential delivery delays, the need to replace the item, and additional organizational effort remain.
These factors become particularly important during the holiday shopping season, when last-minute orders and high-value merchandise come together.
Additional checks during transport
Parcel Broker is expanding its existing security concept with a new active transport monitoring system. According to the company, shipments will be equipped with RFID chips that enable additional technical tracking during transport. An AI-powered analysis of the transport data is used to detect irregularities in the shipping process.
With this, Parcel Broker is further developing its already established digital shipment tracking system in a targeted manner. While this system primarily provides information about the current shipping status, the combination of RFID technology and AI-powered analysis opens up additional opportunities to monitor the transport process and identify potential risks early on.
This approach expands on traditional financial protection by adding a preventive layer of security.
International Experience
Active monitoring of high-value shipments is already well established in international value logistics. Experience from other areas of logistics also shows that improved monitoring and traceability can help detect irregularities earlier and reduce errors in logistics processes.
Parcel Broker is capitalizing on this trend by integrating additional RFID tracking with AI-powered analysis into its existing shipping services.
Safety and Cost-Effectiveness
For jewelers and manufacturers, reliable shipping is not just a matter of the value of the goods. When it comes to watches that are difficult to replace, custom-made jewelry, or time-sensitive deliveries, even minor delays can have significant operational consequences.
This is where additional monitoring comes into play. Early detection of irregularities creates the conditions necessary to respond to potential transportation problems before they result in major damage. In addition to safety, this also underscores the economic importance of a supply chain that is as disruption-free as possible.
Booking via the shipping portal
According to Parcel Broker, the additional shipment tracking is intended to be an optional service within the GeoNet shipping portal. It can thus be integrated into the existing booking process, while insurance coverage remains unchanged.
By expanding its security concept, Parcel Broker is responding to a trend in high-value logistics: In addition to protecting against potential damage, monitoring ongoing shipments is becoming increasingly important. Integrating existing shipping processes with additional digital monitoring capabilities opens up new possibilities for the transport of high-value goods.
