Titoni and elegant sportiness

The fact that the Swiss Titoni family business is well known among watch connoisseurs for its mastery of sporty timepieces and pilot's watches. The "Seascoper", a highly successful model that has been continuously developed to this day, was launched in 1963.

Now Titioni surprises with the elegant "Linie 1919" collection with its own manufacture calibre T10. With a minimalist design and a flat stainless steel case measuring just 10.3 millimetres in height, the brand demonstrates its versatility and dress watch expertise.

This can also be seen through the domed sapphire crystal with a view of the enlarged date window at 3 o'clock, the faceted indices and the classic dials in silver, anthracite and navy blue. The red 1919 at 6 o'clock provides a stylish accent.

Why 1919, actually? It's quite simple. That was the year the family business was founded in Grenchen. It is now run by brothers Marc and Oliver Schluep, the fourth generation of the family to do so - and is therefore still in the hands of the same family as in the year it was founded.

Back to the "Line 1919": The models in the collection house the manufacture calibre T01 with a gold-plated, skeletonised oscillating weight and an impressive 72-hour power reserve in a 40-millimetre stainless steel case with a sapphire crystal case back.

It is the result of years of development work by Titoni's in-house designers and watchmakers. At 4.1 millimetres, the large diameter of the movement allows for a very flat construction and easy accessibility for servicing.

The robustness of the calibre has already been proven in use with the tool watches in the "Seascoper 600" collection. The 168 components are manufactured by specialised suppliers in the region around Grenchen before being tested by Titoni and installed in the workshop.

"With the T10 calibre, we are not only celebrating a technological highlight, but also reaffirming our long-term commitment to Swiss craftsmanship and family values," says Co-CEO Olivier Schluep.
