Doublé

A composite material consisting of a base layer (usually a base metal) and a rolled-on layer of precious metal, usually Gold. Double It looks like real gold, but is cheaper. It's used in rings, watches, or brooches – it should be clearly marked ("gold double“ or “rolled gold“).
