Escapement (lever escapement)

The inhibition, especially the anchor escapement, is a central component of a mechanical watch movement. It controls the flow of energy from the Tension spring for the Gear train and ensures that the Balance wheel oscillates at regular intervals. The anchor escapement consists of the Anchor wheelthe anchor and the pallet stones and is responsible for the accuracy and the “tick-tock” sound of the watch.
