Balance spring

Also called a coil spring. A fine, spiral-shaped spring that, together with the Balance wheel It forms the heart of the clock. It provides the restoring force for each oscillation of the Balance wheel. Their quality and design (e.g. flat spiral, Breguet spiral or silicon spiral) have a major influence on the accuracy of a watch.
