Complication

In watchmaking, “Complication“ any additional function beyond the pure time display – e.g. date, Chronograph, moon phase, or striking mechanism. The more complex and diverse these additional functions, the greater the watchmaking effort. Grand complications such as perpetual calendars, minute repeaters, or tourbillons are among the masterpieces of haute horlogerie.
