Ratchet wheel

The Ratchet wheel is a part of the winding mechanism of a mechanical watch. It prevents the Tension spring During winding, the spring is released backward. In conjunction with the locking cone, it ensures that the energy is directed into the spring in only one direction. It is a small but important component in the spring barrel.
