Winding shaft

The Winding shaft is the connecting piece between the Crown and the inner Gear train of the watch. It transmits the mechanical movement when turning the Crown for winding the movement or setting the time. Winding shaft must be particularly robust and precisely manufactured, as it is subjected to frequent wear and tear. In waterproof watches, it is often provided with seals or has a screwable Crown protected.
