Sternglas appoints Maurizio Koch as COO and drives international growth forward
The Hamburg-based watch brand Sternglas is expanding its management team: Maurizio Koch (left) is taking on the role of Chief Operating Officer (COO) and will play a central role in the company’s further scaling and international growth.
“Maurizio brings exactly the operational strength and international experience we need for our continued growth,” says Sternglas founder Dustin Fontaine.

Scaling expert for the next phase of growth
Koch was most recently managing director of the online shop Limberry, which specializes in premium traditional clothing. Over more than six years, he developed the company, expanded the team and brand, and established a powerful infrastructure in digital commerce. In total, he has more than ten years of experience in e-commerce, data infrastructure, shop development, and performance marketing.
According to its own statements, Sternglas is currently experiencing a dynamic growth phase. In 2025, the brand achieved strong international growth, particularly in the USA. The US market now accounts for around 50 percent of total sales and is set to expand further in 2026 – despite challenges posed by rising US tariffs.

“Sternglas has enormous international potential. I look forward to working with the team to shape the next phase of growth in a structured and sustainable manner,” says Koch.
The expansion of the management team will also benefit brick-and-mortar retail partners. “I am delighted that Maurizio will be helping us to further professionalize our operational and digital processes,” says Dirk Proksch, Director of Retail at Sternglas. “This will enable us to offer our jewelers even faster, more reliable, and better service in the future.”
