Fortis is introducing the Marinemaster with a full-surface DLC coating for the first time
With the new “Marinemaster M-44” models, Fortis presents two diver’s watches whose cases are, for the first time, fully coated with a Dianoir DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) coating. The surface achieves a Vickers hardness of approximately 4,500 HV—about 20 times harder than stainless steel and roughly 50 to 65 percent as hard as diamond, the hardest known natural material.
The “Marinemaster M-44 DLC Gravity Black” and “Marinemaster M-44 DLC Black Resin”—both versions of the Forts diver’s watch—feature a minimalist, charcoal-black design with a 44-millimeter diameter and are powered by the in-house Caliber 11 movement.

Special Case: DLC Debut in the Marinemaster Collection
The case is made of solid, recycled stainless steel and is finished with a Dianoir DLC coating. This extremely hard surface treatment is being used over the entire surface for the first time in the Marinemaster collection. The result is a particularly durable surface with high resistance to scratches, wear, and corrosion.

The 44-millimeter case is water-resistant to 50 bar. Features include a bidirectional rotating bezel with the Fortis Lock System, which prevents accidental adjustment, and a screw-down crown with a triple seal.

Kenissi Technology Inside
Inside, the watch is powered by the in-house Caliber 11, which Fortis developed in collaboration with the Swiss movement specialist Kenissi. The COSC-certified automatic movement offers a power reserve of 70 hours.

Variable inertia control and an oversized bridge with dual fixation ensure high structural stability and enhanced impact resistance.
Streamlined for maximum readability
Clear readability has always been a key feature of the “Marinemaster” collection, which was launched in 1954. Large applied hour markers and distinctive hands are coated with Super-LumiNova X1, ensuring they remain clearly visible even in the dark or in murky water.

While the “Gravity Black” model has a particularly technical and sleek look, the “Black Resin” features gold accents on the dial. When held up to the light, these accents create reflections reminiscent of sunbeams refracting through moving water. Both “Marinemaster” models are worn on a black, textured rubber strap.
