Garmin MARQ Gen 3: Six tool watches with a larger AMOLED display

Garmin is updating its MARQ collection. The third generation includes six models designed for outdoor activities, sports, aviation, tactical applications, diving, and golf. All models feature Grade 5 titanium cases, sapphire crystal, ceramic bezels, and an AMOLED touchscreen that has grown to 1.4 inches.

MARQ: A High-Quality Watch Collection

Within Garmin’s product lineup, MARQ occupies the role of a particularly elaborately designed watch collection. While technical features remain central, the cases, bezels, and straps are deliberately treated as a cohesive design. Grade 5 titanium, sapphire crystal, and ceramic are paired with leather, jacquard fabric, or silicone—depending on the lifestyle the respective model is designed for.

The display design also draws inspiration from classic watchmaking: Garmin cites world timer, “panda,” and pilot’s watches as models for its exclusive dial designs. The six models already stand out from one another in terms of appearance—not just when you open a sports app. MARQ is thus aimed at people who wear their watch while working out, traveling, and in their everyday professional lives, and who value high-quality materials and a distinctive style.

Cards, Communication, and an 18-Day Term

Pre-installed TopoActive maps and a global address search enhance navigation. The built-in inReach technology enables communication via LTE or satellite—depending on your subscription, network coverage, and local regulations. This includes text and voice messages, weather information, location sharing, and an SOS call to the Garmin Emergency Response Center.

The speaker and microphone allow for voice commands and the use of a connected smartphone’s assistant. An LED flashlight is also included. Garmin lists health features such as ECG, heart rate variability, Pulse Ox, and sleep and stress analysis; individual features may vary by region or depend on additional services. Battery life is up to 18 days in smartwatch mode.

Six models for different applications

The MARQ Adventurer combines an Italian full-grain leather strap with waterproof inductive buttons, a 360-degree compass, and ClimbPro. The MARQ Athlete features a silicone strap, a VO2max indicator, and analytics for running efficiency and endurance.

For pilots, the MARQ Aviator offers dynamic flight charts, aviation weather, and a GMT display. The MARQ Commander adds a UTC bezel, camouflage jacquard strap, night vision compatibility, stealth mode, and Applied Ballistics.

New to the family is the MARQ Diver, featuring a strap that can be finely adjusted by 15 millimeters, diving, freediving, and snorkeling functions up to 40 meters, as well as nautical applications. The MARQ Golfer offers more than 43,000 preloaded courses, a Virtual Caddie, and—with a membership—green contour data.
