G-SHOCK and the world's biggest frog

It's well known that the Casio brand isn't synonymous with petite and small designs. The introduction of the new "MRG-BF1000RG" doesn't change that – quite the opposite. The inspiration for this model is none other than the Goliath frog, the world's largest amphibian. It can grow up to 34 centimeters long and lives in the rainforests of western Cameroon and Equatorial Guinea.

Now, the dimensions of the new “Frogman” from G-SHOCK are, of course, not quite so exorbitant, and its home wrists are welcome to be spread all over the globe.

With its 56 × 49.7 × 18.6 millimeter titanium case, it nevertheless displays considerable stature, suggesting it's well-suited to larger wrists. Secured to these with a khaki-colored fluororubber strap, it's ready for serious adventures. The new "Frogman" not only possesses the toughness typical of G-SHOCK, but also has ISO 6425 certification for genuine diving watches and is water-resistant to 20 bar.

Some components are not shown in the photo. The model shown is MRG-BF1000R-1AJR.

The MRG-BF1000RG also features the asymmetrical “Frogman” design, which was specially developed to allow unrestricted freedom of movement of the wrist underwater.

Visually, the beige indices are reminiscent of the underside of the frog and are coated with Neobrite, which ensures comfortable readability even in low light.

The underside of the titanium case is also inspired by the face of the giant amphibian and features a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with a green vapor coating.

Despite the robust construction, the built-in antenna for radio reception remains fully functional. In dive mode, the hour and minute hands overlap into a single hand to intuitively display the dive time. Three dual-coil motors enable exceptionally fast hand movements, ensuring seamless transitions between the current time and dive time.
