Swiss watch brand Alpina presents its first 100 per cent titanium watch

After the 39er “Alpiner Extreme Automatic” made of stainless steel, which Alpina presented at this year's Watches & Wonders, is now followed by a version in titanium.

Lightweight and durable, the material is a perfect fit for this model, which is ideal for outdoor adventures while embodying urban chic.

Titanium is on average 50 percent lighter than steel, more corrosion-resistant, hypoallergenic, and therefore a worthy addition to the current range of the “Alpiner Extreme” collection.

The dial, with its triangular symbol representing the eponymous Alpine peaks, also pays homage to the material, at least in its light gray color. Twelve applied indices with polished facets and luminous elements, as well as the second hand with a red triangular counterweight, ensure easy legibility of the precision conveyed by the inner workings. This is achieved by the Swiss-made caliber 525 with a 38-hour power reserve.

Alpina's new lightweight watch is worn on a titanium bracelet with a folding clasp. (RRP €2,495)
