New "Boulton" from Hamilton - a real eye-catcher virtually and in real life

In collaboration with Hideo Kojima's creative team, the Hamilton timepiece "American Classic Boulton Death Stranding 2 Limited Edition" was released at the end of June, both in the video game and as a limited edition for wrists in real, analog life.

The game by visionary video game developer Hideo Kojima was one of the most eagerly anticipated new releases in both gaming and cultural circles. Featuring characters portrayed by world-class actors such as Norman Reedus and Léa Seydoux, Kojima's creative work pushes the narrative and experimental boundaries of gaming.

In collaboration with the storytelling pioneer, Hamilton created an in-game clock for the game “Death Stranding 2: On the Beach,” the sequel to the award-winning, genre-spanning work “Death Stranding.”

Hamilton worked closely with art director Yoji Shinkawa to create this futuristic, Boulton-inspired limited edition, capturing the techno-apocalyptic landscape of Death Stranding. As with many of Kojima's past works, Shinkawa provided art direction for this series, translating Kojima's mind's imagination into a real watch.

The design elements borrowed from the "Boulton" are reflected in the curved lines of the 36 × 48 mm black PVD-coated titanium case. The watch also features seven sapphire crystal elements: a main viewing window framed by two lines, each of which is divided into three sections adapted to the shape of the case. This completely new case shape creates a dynamic, ever-changing play of light and shadow.

Minimalist gray markers on the dial contrast with the lacquered orange second hand and the orange index at 12 o'clock. Loop-shaped hour and minute hands echo the design of the sapphire crystal. The black PVD-coated bracelet underscores the watch's sleek yet durable, technical design.

The three-hand automatic movement has an 80-hour power reserve and a Nivachron hairspring for improved resistance to magnetic fields, temperature fluctuations, and shocks.

Limited to 2,000 pieces, the watch features an individual numbering on the caseback and comes in a collector's box inspired by story elements from the game, along with a specially crafted collaboration cleaning cloth. (RRP €1,625)
