Inspired by nature

The new "Ocean Drop" pendants from the "Modern Classics" collection showcase the beauty and uniqueness of natural pearls. The timeless design of the jewellery pieces was inspired by the creativity that nature itself displays in the many shapes of pearls. Manufactory owner Jörg Gellner says:

"Pearls come in a wide variety of shapes and colour nuances - and it is precisely this diversity that we want to celebrate with the Ocean Drop."

At the centre of the clear design is always an unusually shaped pearl, which is selected from thousands of specimens in Gellner's pearl atelier with the utmost care and the company's 50 years of expertise.

Natural beauty, artfully staged

Goldsmiths at the Gellner manufactory then skilfully set the pearl into the handcrafted gold pendant, which is accentuated with diamonds. The design team decides individually for each pearl which positioning best emphasises its beauty. In most cases, the natural treasure is set into the gold pendant with the pointed side facing downwards - deliberately going against the usual design conventions.

The result is a piece of jewellery for pearl connoisseurs and lovers, no two of which are alike and which, thanks to its sophisticated beauty, can be worn both casually in everyday life and as an elegant statement piece in the evening. Gellner presents the pearl pendant in two versions: either on a silk ribbon or on a gold chain, which can be worn long or doubled.

The "Ocean Drop" is available with the unique Marutea pearls, shimmering from pistachio green to metallic purple, which Gellner sells exclusively as Private Culture, or the manufactory's iconic champagne-coloured South Sea pearls.
