Is Rolex discontinuing the GMT-Master II "Pepsi"?

The online portal WatchPro reports that Rolex has informed authorized dealers that the GMT-Master II with a red and blue Pepsi bezel will no longer be available. End customers are also said to have been advised to look for alternative models.

Back in 2023, WatchPro reported that rumors had been circulating for months in various forums about production difficulties in manufacturing the iconic blue and red 24-hour bezel of the Pepsi GMT-Master II and that Rolex might discontinue the watch for this reason. However, these assumptions were never confirmed.

Nevertheless, this led to prices for the Oystersteel “GMT-Master II” with a red and blue ceramic bezel on the pre-owned market subsequently trading well above the RRP of €11,550 (with Jubilee bracelet) and €11,350 (with Oyster bracelet).

After a few ups and downs, prices have been rising steadily since the beginning of the year. Currently, the asking prices on Chrono24, for example, range from €15,700 for a worn model with an Oyster bracelet to €65,000 for an unworn 2020 version with a Jubilee bracelet.

The background to this development is that rumors of a possible discontinuation of the Pepsi Rolex gained momentum again in early February this year when the reference number 126710BLRO in Oystersteel disappeared from several authorized dealer websites in the US.
