Sketchbook-style art on your wrist: G-Shock x Joshua Vides collaboration
G-Shock presents two of the brand’s iconic models in the distinctive sketchbook style of street artist and designer Joshua Vides.
The collaboration combines the rugged DNA of G-Shock with the striking black-and-white illustrations of Joshua Vides, who has previously worked with global brands and international art galleries.
Inspired by comic book art, he transformed the watches into wearable works of art and deliberately elevated them beyond their functional aspects—such as absolute shock resistance and water resistance—to an artistic level.
For this collaboration, two G-Shock models from the 5600 and 6900 series, made from bio-based resin, were selected.
The matte black “DW-6900JV” features skillfully placed white accents from the dial to the case and bracelet, while the “DW-5600JV” boasts a white base with high-contrast black lines and a striking glossy finish.
The design of the limited-edition “G-Shock x Joshua Vides” collection also features exciting details, such as Joshua’s trademark hand-drawn “Pylon” motif, which appears when the extra-bright backlight is activated. The black-and-white comic-style design is also carried over to the special packaging.
