Chronopolis 1st Edition – A New Place to Meet

With Chronopolis, Geneva Watch Week 2026 introduced a new, deliberately open format. For a few days, a space was created in the heart of Geneva that was conceived less as a traditional exhibition and more as a meeting place—for brands, collectors, the media, retailers, and, above all, the interested public.

An open-concept layout instead of a traditional presentation

Chronopolis focused on connection rather than spectacle. While watches took center stage, conversations, spontaneous encounters, and informal exchanges were just as important. The mix of industry professionals, local visitors, and international guests gave the event an unusually lively atmosphere—deliberately low-key and accessible.

A platform for independent and distinctive brands

Chronopolis offered particular added value, especially for the independent scene and concept-driven brands. It creates space for direct conversations, for sharing the stories behind the products, and for personally conveying a brand’s identity—often by the owner, designer, or creator themselves. The proximity to the audience—from collectors to casual visitors—enables a different kind of experience: less detached, but more immediate and often more lasting. For many of these brands, Chronopolis is thus not merely a presentation space, but a place where relationships are formed and brand identities are refined through direct dialogue.

Positive response and high turnout

According to the organizers, the first edition exceeded their own expectations. The response from visitors was overwhelmingly positive and validated the core concept of providing an open space during the busy days of the trade show in Geneva.

A clear trend also emerged from conversations on site: formats that place greater emphasis on interaction and experience rather than mere product presentation are becoming increasingly important.

The Chronopolis Party as the highlight

A clear example of this energy was the Chronopolis Party on April 16 at the Halles de l’Île. The free event drew a diverse crowd and quickly became one of the week’s most social highlights. The relaxed atmosphere, filled with music, conversation, and chance encounters, reflected the character of the entire event.

A new highlight of Geneva Watch Week

With its debut, Chronopolis has demonstrated the potential of open, community-oriented formats. Positioned between established platforms such as Watches and Wonders Geneva and Time to Watches, the concept serves as a complementary gathering place—less formal, but all the more accessible.
