Doppio by Mondaine – inspired by the Bauhaus
Mondaine is expanding its “Doppio” collection with the “Doppio Bauhaus Inspired”—a new series that explores the relationship between color, geometry, and time from the perspective of modernist design.
Mondaine’s “Doppio” collection is characterized by its striking double-line design. The hour and minute hands consist of two parallel lines—a feature that extends seamlessly to the numerals on the silver or black dial, creating a clear, distinctive visual identity.
The new quartz models, available in 33- and 41-millimeter sizes, are inspired by the Bauhaus. With their subtle color nuances, the hour markers on the dial reflect the interplay of primary colors. For the first time, the “Doppio” logo also adorns the dial, complemented by the distinctive red seconds hand.
In true Bauhaus spirit, geometry becomes a central design element. The trio of basic shapes—the circle, the square, and the triangle—can be found on the case back and the dial.
“With the ‘Doppio Bauhaus Inspired,’ we wanted to explore how color can remain restrained while simultaneously lending emotional depth to a functional design,” said André Bernheim, CSO and member of the Executive Board.
