Mondaine’s Tribute to a Classic of Watchmaking
Mondaine presents a new pocket watch for all watch enthusiasts who embrace nostalgia and appreciate classic design.
Pocket watches have been making a comeback in current collections for some time now—not just since the release of the Audemars Piguet x Swatch Royal Pop. Rather, this collaborative model has capitalized on a microtrend that was already gaining traction.
To mark its 150th anniversary last year, Audemars Piguet created a pocket watch. Bulova also unveiled a pocket watch inspired by a model from the 1920s to celebrate its 150th anniversary in 2025. A year earlier, Citizen had also launched a pocket watch to mark its 100th anniversary—a reinterpretation of the Japanese brand’s first watch. In contrast, Hublot’s collaborative model, the “Arsham Droplet,” has a futuristic look, while Patek Philippe even carries pocket watches in its regular catalog on a permanent basis.
The new pocket watch is not the first of its kind in Mondaine’s portfolio either. Last year, the Swiss brand launched a pocket watch as a tribute to the Federal Charter of August 1, 1291, which is considered Switzerland’s founding document.
“Especially in an age when smartphones have become our constant companions, the Mondaine pocket watch encourages a more mindful connection to and attitude toward time,” the brand explains.
Next up is the new model with a black dial and white hour markers. This timepiece combines the design of the official Swiss station clock—a symbol of Swiss precision since 1944—with the charm of a traditional pocket watch.
The 43-millimeter polished stainless steel case and matching chain evoke the elegance of classic pocket watches, while the minimalist dial lends the model a modern character. The Ronda 513 quartz movement inside ensures contemporary precision.
The included carabiner and stainless steel chain allow you to securely attach the watch to vests, pockets, or belts.
