INSIGHT-RADAR: Basilia, Kering, Perrelet, and Chrono24
In the latest INSIGHT-RADAR: The new Basilia Jewellery & Watch Fair is taking shape ahead of its debut, Chrono 24 introduces the “Market Scanner,” Kering tightens its protection standards for models, and Perrelet combines watchmaking with contemporary art.
Basilia 2027: 70 percent of the exhibitor target achieved

Three months after the announcement, the Basilia Jewellery & Watch Fair has already secured 70 percent of its target number of exhibitors. Organized by Informa Markets and the MCH Group, the inaugural event is set to bring together more than 400 exhibitors from April 8 to 11, 2027, in Hall 2 at Messe Basel. About 75 percent of the registrations so far are for jewelry and gemstones, with the remainder for watches. Approximately 65 percent of the booked space currently comes from Asia, and 35 percent from Europe.
The trade show positions itself as a bridge between Asian and European markets. In addition to established vendors, a dedicated section for young and independent brands is planned. According to the organizers, more than 2,500 hotel rooms have been reserved for exhibitors and visitors at special rates.
Chrono24 Market Scanner: Transaction Data for Dealers

Chrono24 is expanding its Market Portal for professional dealers with the Market Scanner. The tool distinguishes between average listing prices and actual sale prices and supplements the analysis with data on listing duration, page views, inquiries, and regional demand.
Filters include reference number, case material, and dial color. The system also uses the supply-and-demand ratio to calculate a market saturation indicator. The Market Scanner will initially launch as a beta version.
Kering and LVMH are tightening safety regulations for models
Kering and LVMH are expanding their charter on working conditions for models, which they jointly introduced in 2017. Going forward, a minimum age of 18 will apply across both groups for models portraying adults in fashion shows or photo shoots. In addition, there will be an explicit zero-tolerance policy toward harassment, abuse, and gender-based and sexual violence.
The revised charter mandates training for brands, agencies, and casting and production teams. Situations involving full or partial nudity require prior formal consent, a private setting, and must not take place alone with a member of the production team. These measures are supplemented by an anonymous reporting system, protections for witnesses, and unannounced inspections and audits. The new rules are set to take effect at the next Paris Fashion Week in 2027. Selection processes must also take diversity and non-discrimination into account without fundamentally restricting the creative freedom of the brands.
Perrelet × The Dial Artist for TimeForArt

Perrelet is participating in TimeForArt for the second time and is once again collaborating with Chris Alexander, known as The Dial Artist. The unique Lab Peripheral features a 42-by-42-millimeter gray PVD-coated steel case. Colored stripes cover the central dial and the peripheral rotor. The in-house automatic caliber P-411 offers a 42-hour power reserve.
Phillips will auction the watch on December 5, 2026, in New York to benefit the Swiss Institute. The project thus combines the technical innovation of the peripheral winding mechanism with an artistic design created specifically for the charity auction.
